Roomba! You can vacuum more frequently with less effort on your part.
Or vacuum on schedule with the timer and you don't even have to be there.

I have a Shark Rotator Lift Away, and I love it! Got it at Costco. Wow, does it pick up pet hair! The vacuum came with a pet hair attachment head too. best $250 I've spent on a vacuum!!

thank you everyone for you input. I took the advice of several of you and researched the Shark lift away, it gets such great reviews on line, so I decided to buy it. Hope it lives up to all the hype.

I agree. Tried to get 1 of my clients to get 1 when they asked what I thought. The husband did Cons. Reports & bought a Windtunnel. It was only $50 less, doesn't pick up as well & the cord is much shorter. Have to use 3 outlets to vac the house (dble-wide), with the Shark only 2. Not a big deal just an irritation.

LOL. I hate a long cord. I'd rather use 3 outlets than wrestle with a hundred yards of cord. But a too-short cord is a bummer too.

I agree, KarenJ! I have a Roomba 880 and when I first got it, about eight months ago, I was amazed at how well it works. My floors have never been vacuumed so frequently! I love the virtual walls, too!

I have a Ryker upright, commercial model. Told the guy at the vacuum shop I have a golden retriever & 2 cats, and I sew/quilt a it. I was looking an used Electrolux - even used it was expensive! The shop guy said if you can an older model Electrolux, grab it. This Ryker was on sale and does a wonderful job. You just have to plug it in!

Exactly, Kerry. If you vacuum 2,3,4X a week your house will be much cleaner than if you vacuum once a week, no matter which vacuum you buy. GO ROOMBA! (But I think we're in the minority here.)

I had a rainbow and loved the job it did...just a pain in the butt getting rid of the mud that resulted in the pan with all the dog hair and dragged in sand/dirt. But it did an amazing job.
