Love mine! They are nice to have for winding lots of bobbins in succession. I hate dismantling my threaded machine in order to wind bobbins. I use it all the time.

Default I vote "no" for Sidewinder

I thought a Sidewinder would be a useful addition to my toy chest - but it was not. The thread doesn't wind evenly, it gets thick at the top then starts filling in more at the bottom. Also, it doesn't always stop when the bobbin is full - I end up moving the bobbin to the thread post and winding the excess onto another bobbin. This means I have to sit and watch it closely and I have better things to do. Fortunately, I have a machine that will wind bobbins without unthreading the needle so have started using that. It winds evenly and, I think the tension is better. Strange that there isn't something that is sturdier - it is light weight plastic and almost like a toy. Sidewinder was a waste of money for me.

I have one that I don't use. I just like the way my machine winds them better.

I found a new in the box pink one at the thrift store for $4. I bought it to have as a back up winder because I have several vintage machines. I like having it available but wouldn't spend the money to buy one at the craft store. I also think that my sewing machines do a better job than the sidewinder.

I have one but found it didn't wind the bobbins tight enough. A friend has one and her machine produces perfect bobbins.

I use a separate thread stand with mine and I believe that it helps with winding bobbins.

I was given one but I don't think it is that great. I will probably pass this clunker onto a friend who might use it.

I have one just because my bobbin winder doesn't work on my machine. I bought the deluxe one and haven't had one bit of trouble with it. I love having it, use it all the time especially if I wind several at one time.
