Thanks to mjhaess who emailed some pictures and snail mailed a template, I was able to make a nurse cap to wear to my bookclub last night. I never could quite understand the directions of the pattern, but with mjhaess's help, I figured it out enough to make it work.

I put some red food dye in some vaseline for the lipstick.

When I arrived at the meeting, the hostess had provided the others with paper nurse caps as a surprise. Of course, my cloth cap looked better, and I was the only one with red "lipstick." It was alot of fun.

The book we read was "Pure Grit: how American World War II nurses survived battle and prison camp in the Pacific" by Mary Cronk Farrell. Everyone at the meeting loved this book. That is a rare occurrance with this group of ladies. I highly recommend it...

I used the food color and vaseline because I'm cheap and didn't want to buy a tube of lipstick to wear only one time. It actually worked really well. The food color dye stained my lips, and the color lasted all evening.
