Fussy cutting is so important to get the best out of the fabric - even smaller designs work better with a little planning.

For those who are newer to cutting 5" charms - here is a good tutorial - well darn! The link is no longer available. I will look and see if I can find another good one.

I'm new to quilting, so fussy cutting has been a challenge. I posted to the quilting forum a few days ago and got some good tips. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1/fussy-cutting-t281082.html

I'm new to quilting and to swapping. I have a question. I was involved with a swap on another forum and, apparently some swappers sent a "hostess gift". Is this usual? Do most people sent one? What kinds of gifts are sent?

Thanks,
bk

Hi bkay Welcome to the group. Hostess gifts are always appreciated, and they are GIFTS. Nothing is required. IF someone wants to add a special fabric or extra stamps, a small memo book or perhaps a few teabags, for the hostess, their generosity is appreciated.

I'm confused...which is not unusual for me...is the deadline to sign up on August 31st or do they have to be in the mail by then, or do they need to be in the hostesses hands on that date??? Please clarify for me.

THank you all for being patient with me. I was playing bridge Mon afternoon when I developed a severe headache. Called my husband and he ended up taking me to the ER. I was in the process of having a stroke when we got there - THP was a lifesaver! WHile early on I had quite a few deficits, I improved rapidly. I have been released from the hospital and am at a rehab facility for maybe a week. So I apologize for not getting to private messages and questions. I will have my iPad with me, so I can try to check in here.I would like for Aug 31 to be at least a mail date if you can make it and join us. I don't have updated info on received envelopes but will try to get it. I should be out of here before swapping time is here. If anyone needs my mailing address, please send me a PM. AGain, thanks! I can't type very well on this thing!
