Wow! Almost missed the train! Had a function at our American Legion Post yesterday, came home & mowed the yard & didn't check the computer! But, I'm on board now! This looks right up my alley too! Now it's time to go stash diving!

Not yet. Going to get my apples today and will make apple sauce today or tomorrow, depending on how tired I am from grocery shopping. Will make Bedocks probably Tuesday. My new oven comes tomorrow. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas! What kind of bread do you mean? Like Banana bread or like white bread? I had a wonderful food processor recipe for yeast bread many years ago. Over the years I lost the book it was in. Yesterday, while looking on the internet for something else, I ran across the recipe that someone had posted from her 25-30 year old processor book, and its the same recipe I loved. What's the odds of that?!

Just Jan,..............breads like banana bread or zucchini bread. Any bread or cake recipe that takes a type of fruit I'm sure you can substitute apples with. Think I even found a bundt cake recipe using apples. Trying to make use of all those canned apples before they go bad on me. So far after 2 years none have gone bad but always thought there was a time limit on home-made canned goods.

According to the internet home canned applesauce has a shelf life of two to three years if kept in a cool dry place. It keeps longer with less sugar. If stored on an open shelf, you can cut strips of brown paper and wrap them around the jars and secure with a rubber bands, to keep the light out, so it doesn't turn dark over time. Hey, this might be another way to use our fat quarters! LOL Guess if you store it in a cabinet with doors it would be dark enough. But now I ask you, wouldn't fabric with fruit make adorable jar wraps! I use fabric circles on top of my jelly jars for decoration but never thought about wrapping it around the jars! Jar caddies! LOL Seriously, I also read that one woman was using her applesauce after lots longer than that and she said it is fine. I doubt you have to worry yet. As long as its sealed the worst that happens is that it goes dark and loses a bit of flavor. Also saw a recipe online for old fashioned applesauce spice cake that sounded really good. Maybe you could make one and put it in the club car?

I love the Halloween fabrics. The cat and frog one is adorable. Like already said choices are cute but not gaudy.
