I don't think the 2000 has the 2010's speed moderator feature, so I'll have to muddle along on my own. But for this price I'll make do!

If anyone is considering this deal, just want to report that my Juki TL-2000qi arrived today. It is indeed brand new, in its original unopened packaging. All expected items were in the box, including 3 presser feet (possibly 4 -- I need to wait for my husband to come help me lift it from its box and styrofoam packing pieces, so I can't see if another foot is already mounted on the presser foot stem), 4 bobbins, 4 needles, oil, screwdrivers, spool cover, lint brush, knee lift lever, extension table, and soft cover. Ended up getting it with free shipping and no tax, so my price out the door was $575. I can't wait to set it up and get acquainted!

Super curious to hear your initial experiments on your new machine! I'm considering a straight stitcher for a larger throat space, I've done two queens and a king on my DSM but it's getting harder to squeeze my quilts thru and renting time on a LA gets pricey quickly lol, let us know what you think, I'm looking at the 2010 and the brother 1500 but the 2000 is much cheaper than the 2010

I will let you know ASAP. I had to go out of town right after bringing the Juki into the house. Wanted to take it with me, but I did take it out of the box just to look at it. It looks really really nice. Big and tall throat space, and I just like the aesthetics of this machine! As I hoped and suspected, it does in fact come with the standard 1/4" foot installed, plus 3 more feet in the box -- a 1/5" darning/FMQ foot, a compensating foot, and a walking/even feed foot. I'm looking forward to trying it out!

My old machine doesn't have the speed moderator feature and I use it for quilting all the time so the speed moderator feature was not a necessary. From a 4 in harp with foot control only to make king size quilts on juki tl2000qi makes up for no moderator.

Thanks so much for your post. I was telling my husband about it (after I wiped drool off my chin) and he ordered this for my 50th birthday. It was so fast in coming (said next week and arrived Thursday) that we were both got a surprise!

Took her for a test drive and it's wonderful! I was quilting on a Bernina 830 record so just having the needle down position is a treat!

McG....Glad you joined us Juki owners. I am always telling people what a great, sturdy, tough machine it is. I bought it to do FMQing and have now bought a frame for it and am trying to get used to quilting on a frame. I wanted to share a hint someone gave me about the foot pedal and regulating the speed of the machine that doesn't have a speed regulator. i have the TL98Q and it might be a bit different from yours, but I placed a thick piece of cardboard under my foot pedal and taped it in place. First, I folded the cardboard and slipped it under the foot pedal, then taped it. The cardboard keeps the pedal from going as far down and slows down the speed. Can you tell I am very low-tech? HA But, it works really well for me. Give it a try. Brenda
