I learned in a class to wet the needle, not the thread. It works every time.

Since I read the suggestion to use a white card or paper behind the needle that works so perfect for me and takes no time compared to struggling with the needle threader!

Great tip. I always have either Thread Heaven and/or a chap stick with my sewing stuff. I don't know why, but my hands and lips always get really dry when working with fabric. (Of course, I use lotion on my hands and not Thread Heaven or chap stick.)

A sewing machine repairman just said the funniest thing, he said, "you know, they just keep making those needle eyes smaller and smaller." Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. LOL

This really works. Wet the BACK of the needle and poke the thread in the general direction of the hole. It seems to just pop through there. If there is a lot of fluff at the end of the thread, cut that off, but I've taken thread that has been sitting around a long time and it went right through that eye.

That is a good idea. I also lick my finger and rub it on the needle rather than the thread. The thread seems to be almost attracted to it.

If all else and you don't have any of the above, try a white candle stub. Draw the thread across it like you would beeswax.

My sewing machine guy puts his little finger behind the needle to see better to thread. It works!
