Heat N Bond Question

Heat N Bond Question
I am making a quilted wall hanging of a Tiki Bar. The directions call for Heat N Bond on the roof piece and then says to "cut the bottom 4 inches up about 2/3 inches wide. Heat then crinkle according to HnB directions". I can not find anything on the wrapper or on the internet about crinkling. Does anyone know how to do this or have done it? Thanks for your help. I will post a picture once I am done with it.

So the bottom that you fringe and krinkle is to give the roof texture like the palm fronds of a tiki bar? I think I would try a little sample since after heating you are going to try to stick wrinkles and pleats in it.

I checked the web page for the quilt shop where I got the pattern, which they also wrote, and they are open today. Usually aren't on Sunday. Called and asked how I was to "crinkle" the roof. Was told to when I cut the tiki strips, to heat them with the iron and push towards the main part of the roof. I tried it on a practice piece and I think it will work. If not, it turns out we may be in the area of the quilt shop this week and I can stop in. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I called the LQS that wrote and where I got the pattern. When the directions said "crinkle" it was what I would call "wrinkle". After pressing the strips that I cut for the Tiki Bar roof, I only needed to wrinkle it in my hands to make the roof look 3-dementional. I will post a picture in a couple days when it is finished. Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Here is a picture of the Tiki Hut I was working on when I asked the question about Heat N Bond. I made this for some friends that let us stay at their FL home last Spring. Hope they like it.
