Default Pfaff Performance 5.0

I am thinking of buying a Pfaff Performance 5.0 sewing machine. I have a Pfaff 7570 that I bought in 1995. Have had no trouble with it and really like it, so am looking at another Pfaff. I also have a Bernina Artista 180 and a BabyLock Ellegante for embroidery.

I am interested in knowing if anyone out there has the Performance 5.0 - if so, any input would be appreciated.

Happy New Year to all!!

Jeri

Just be aware that the Performance has gone to a drop in bobbin. Otherwise, much the same. You might even be able to use your 9mm feet on the Performance. I had 9mm feet from Pfaff 1475. They fit the 2170 and should fit yours.

I had a Pfaff 7550 and then upgraded to a 2144. The feet were interchangable. I have since upgraded to a Creative Sensation Pro. I can still use the same feet as the other 2 machines. I kept the 7550 for my granddaughter when she comes for a sewing weekend. You won't go wrong with a Pfaff.

I have a Performance 5.0 and really like it. All of the presser feet from my previous Pfaffs (1475 and 2056) fit this machine. It is well lit and has a large throat space. I've had no problems with it.

I love my Pfaffs, I have from 1222 to creative sensation. They are great machines.

This is strange to say the least but, I have all the machines that you do. And I purchased the 5.0 last year and really like it. I have no complain with it. I really do like the Pfaff products, as I also have the Passport that I use to carry to classes and workshops.

I bought the Pfaff Performance 5.0 in Feb. this year and I love it. I bought a Select 3 a few years ago and then bought an Ambition 1.0. I traded the Ambition in on the Performance 5.0 and kept the Select 3 as my backup, basically because the feet on the Select 3 and Performance 5.0 are interchangeable. I love the bigger throat space and features that I thought I would never use. There is a Youtube video done by Village Sewing Center that will take you through all the features of this machine; it's about 50 minutes long so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy. It made my decision for me.

So glad you mentioned the Village Sewing Center. I watched it today. Made me sure my decision to buy the Performance 5.0 is right. I'm buying the floor model (the only one left) from a dealer I've dealt with for many years. No instructions, but they'd be available if needed. I think the video pretty much explained everything. Thank you...

Thanks for all the information. I'm anxious to get my machine next week. Not sure yet if I'm going to keep my Pfaff 7570 or sell it. The owner of the store said he'd buy it, but don't know yet about a price. I've always liked that machine. I think I'll 'drive' the 5.0 for a while, then decide, since the 7570 is not a trade-in.

Happy New Year!
