I have been writing on index cards. I have a metal rings with them on it and I write different sewing notes, quilting ideas,
Names of thing to look up on internet like food, quilting, sewing, embroidery, crafts, etc. When my index card get to big I put them in a index card holder. This would be so much better. I do put index card holder with a theme for each. Thanks for sharing looks great!

here is mine - a wonderful gift from my wonderful husband. It is on wheels, and it fits fat quarters very nicely! I took out the wire rod from the drawers, and lined them with thin cork under the tools, and plain fabric under the fat quarters.

When I worked at a library in Missouri, a woman came in and had lost her keys somewhere in the library. We found them a couple of months later........in the card catalog. She had used them to mark a place and then forgot she had done that.

So cool you acquired this old library card catalog - I remember using them as well. I'd do exactly what you're going to use them for. Perhaps put a label on each drawer with what is in each drawer and have an index typed up of what's in each drawer. I have fabric in some shelving drawers and recently went through them and will make up an index of the whole thing.
