Yes, I sewed the first one upside down, but I knew the finished block had to be a square. So I solved that problem. Then I made another one and I think the red triangle was cut wrong, then I made another one and got it right. You really have to hold your mouth just so to get this to come out. I know I had not waited for the tri=rec rulers and just cut some 60 degree triangles. It is not a 60 degree ruler. So all those need to be trimmed. At least they are not too small. I have a great deal of trouble it seems. Thanks soooooo much for all the help and words of encouragement. I'm also working on getting pictures to post.

I finally started sewing my blocks together and even put on 2 neutral border strips. I put in the magenta tri rex blocks that complete the stars but forgot about the purple ones. Oops! I kind of like it this way so I'm not going to be ripping and re-doing. I need to figure out something to add to make it a rectangle instead of a square. Making progress!

I like the second colourway very much except for the strong orange squares. They just seem to shout at me. Maybe use something a bit softer? Although in re-reading your earlier post I realize the orange is probably the large print you were hoping to use up? Not being very helpful am I?

Thanks for your input, Belfrybat! After sleeping on it, I've decided to continue as is. There is quite a bit of variation in that floral print, and I could always do some fussy cutting to get some less intense squares in those spots.

It's got to be the cutting. Maybe I am sliding the tri-rec triangle too far up, no too far down. Down would make that triangle bigger. I think I need sleep.

I liked the orange squares, but they did not match the intensity of the blues. Blues were too mild mannered for that orange. I'm just trying to be helpful, and I'm probably not.

I took an Airborne and went to bed for the afternoon. No real progress today.
