    Default necchi machines

Anyone familiar with the HD 22 Necchi sewing machine? Is it noisy at high speeds? I'm shopping around for a new machine. What is the throat space on it? Can it use a darning foot?

Necchi sewing machines are no longer made, the company has been bought by Janome.

You're correct. The original Italian company closed long ago. Amazon has a total of 6 reviews, and they don't really say anything specific about the machines. Janome makes good machines, so Necchi machines are probably good, but not to be compared to the great old Necchi machines. I apologize for acting like a "knowitall", but I have learned a couple things in 15 years of collecting vintage machines.

Its made by Janome and looks like the HD1000 with more stitches. I didn't notice if it had adjustable foot pressure or not but it will be a very nice mechanical machine and with a nicer stitch selection than most. I'm guessing this is a former Janome model ...one that was brought back to market and re-branded for Necchi. The HD1000 is a nice mechanical machine also and of good quality so this one should be just as good only better due to the broader stitch selection.

I don't have that model but I do have the Necchi TM8, made by Janome, a fantastic little travel/class machine, same as the Janome Jem Gold & the old Jem Platinum. Janome now makes the Necchi's & Elna's, excellent machines.
