Can't you cancel blocks you have not received? I almost fell for that when I first started quilting, that is a lot of money for a quilt! You could email your cancellation, then call your cc
Company and tell them not to process
The charge, if they continue to send
Write RETURN TO SENDER on pkg
Then go to quilters cache website
    For free blocks!

My LQS does a sampler BOM for which I have tremendous respect. The cost is very reasonable - usually about $20 to sign up and free fabrics for following months if you show up with the completed block from the month prior. In theory you can get your 12 blocks for your initial $20 investment. Additional charges for 'finishing kits' comprised of sashing; border; backing fabrics but that is up to you.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm not a fan of sampler quilts for myself but I think the BOM program is a fantastic skill-building exercise. I'm in the process of finishing up a couple from a few years ago now just to get them out the door.

If anyone is looking for skill building, I second the suggestion of quilterscache.com. Great site with tons of resources.

I second the recommendation of quilterscache.com . Fortunately for me, I was told about it very early in my quilting career. It is good that you are re-visiting these BOMs.

I had to chuckle at your description of your early quilting! Think all of us were there at one point. I like your blocks--noticed today that my lilacs were starting to bloom.

I guess my prose is not clear. I did get the first three blocks in the first shipment. There were 6 shipments in all so that is right at $200.00 for the whole quilt, no batting, no backing. Now, yes, it is real pretty and I love the fabrics. I just didn't have the nerve to call them and cancel. I thought live and learn and take your lumps. Hold you head high and press on. So I did.

Yes, the vine print got turned around. And I pinned it too. Then I pressed it and took it to my neighbor who approved it and so I posted it. It wasn't until I saw it on line that I realized the vine print was to make a diagonal line.

Thanks for all your comments. What a great group!
