I think the 30's would look great in dresden or Sun Bonnet Sue blocks.Congrats on your new additions to your stash. I can't say about the batiks- if there is enough in size to use- they would make a beautiful jacket, since you aid you already had a lot.

Sounds like a treasure trove to me. It is always fun to receive fabric.

They work up beautifully in Landscapes--like for water, some hills, ect. Good luck!

I'm making this Dresden Plate Quilt with batiks and am happy with the way it is turning out. Other quilts made with batiks that I found are: Trade winds strip quilt, Butterflies Quilt tute- Jenny Doan (MSQC), Stained Glass Quilt by Rose Smith, Cool Water Quilt by Fons & Porter, Coin Quilt w/Pizzazz -Jenny Doan (MSQC), Layer it up - Quilting Quickly (F & P). Happy for you. Was at thrift store with daughter and got a bag that sign said was linens. I bought it for $3.00 and it was a plastic bag with zipper king size quilts come it. Some had been used but big enough to use in scrap quilt, 3 peices that are nice cotton and 3-4 yards each and some heavy I will use for dog beds for the dogs. Will wait to see what you make out of them. Love batiks

Perhaps some of the fabric could be made into a "thank you" quilt for your hub's boss for the lovely fabric.

What a nice surprise from your boss. Would he appreciate a wall hanging or lap quilt made from his gift. That would be the fist thing I would do, as a thank you.
peace

Qand E, love the big Dresdan quilt you made. I also found out that my cousin is expecting. I'm so excited about it. What to do next for her??? Maybe a batik quilt.
