What ever YOU like is what is important... I love the black background. Piecing star points to star points sometimes is a pain and it does make the quilt look different. If you were to sash...that would solve that issue...but I would sash with the same black as the background...and then all your stars would float....very cool.

I like them with no sashing, your eye goes right to the beauty of the stars that way.

Beautiful BTW!

Just changed my mind, I do like what you did better!

Oooooh, i love how this came out! Without the sashing, the stars kind of blended together, but now you really notice each individual star, and i LOVE your centre star!!! Very nice :)

[quote=mgshaw]I like it without but it might be neat with black sashing that forms a star with the cornerstones. I will see if I can find a picture of what I am talking about.

This is sort of what I was talking about, but not on point just look at the sashing

I like this idea also. I think I would add black sashing or none at all. Those stars are fantabulous on their own! I am thinking that it may take away from the stars if you add the star fabrics or colored sashing between them. Are you planning on bordering this quilt with the star fabrics? I can not wait to see this finished. You have very nice quilting blocks, fabrics, star patterns here.

That's beautiful. I love the big star in the middle.
