Using prequilted fabric is a great idea! My quilt group is currently making these, but from scratch. So far I've made one top and most of a second one (started with the left-over half square triangles cut from the first one!). Now, as it turns out, my MIL may be needing to use a wheelchair occasionally so am going to make her a special one. I'm thinking of adding a pocket to it because she frequently needs to use tissues so she can keep a packet of them handy.

yes, i was going to do pockets but didn't . I saw one where a pocket was made and another one on top of that one but the sides of it were curved inward. looked sort of like an apple core template. that was for hands and the main pocket for items that needed to be stored awhile. cute.
again, they were 36x44.

Do you mean she rounds the bottom corners, like using a plate for the shape.
Even printed cotton can be quilted by us and then bound, not pieced but just a piece quilted.
A great idea for the elders to use.
