Default Quick question single fold or double fold binding

When making every-day placemats ( a gift).....do you use single fold or double fold binding. Appreciate responses.

I use single fold on everything. I may get laughed at, but I think it is a waste of fabric to go any wider than 1 1/2 inches for a binding.

I use double-fold binding. I figure they will get more washing that any quilt would.

I do double-fold, but mostly just out of habit from quilting.

I don't use binding, I birth them and then stitch a line of stay stitching around the edge capturing the seam allowance. When I used binding the edges seemed thick.

I"ve used both, but I agree with double fold will probably stand up to all the using and washing better than single fold.

I usually do double fold binding but if the fabric is extra thick, I will do single fold. (Denim or cotton duck)
