I don't have the option to have a t.v. in my sewing spaces and would find it frustrating to miss dialogue due to my concentration. (I can knit or do handwork while watching t.v., though). Depending on the task, I like to listen to soft music like Enya, classic rock (not the heavy metal type, more pop or soft rock) and CDs. Sometimes, I just need it quiet. Natalie Merchant's music from back in the day makes me happy.

Public radio-- weekdays I listen to it live-Classical music in the morning and early afternoon, Jazz at night. On weekends I listen to my favorite podcasts: Fresh Air, Freakanomics, All Songs Considered.... Sometimes -the science shows on Curiosity channel.

I listen to the Echo. I prefer whole albums instead of individual songs, like the Beatles' Abbey Road or the White Album. I also say "play Johnny Mathis" or Frank Sinatra or Perry Como. I also like songs from the 60's such as Hermans Hermits or the Hollies or Paul Revere and the Raiders. Oftentimes though it's nice to have quiet.
