Having the same problem,I subscribed to one of those programs where the pre- measured ingredients and recipes for meals come -ready to cook. They take about 1/2 hour, and my DH are trying new things and out of the rut.

Yes, same here. Unfortunately though I'm married to an Italian who asks about the next meal as we're finishing a meal. When I broke my hip a few months ago, I was in a nursing home for a couple weeks. It was wonderful having plates of delicious homemade food appear 3 times a day. (Being in the nursing home wasn't fun, just having the meals.)

Another "looker"wondering what's for dinner.I refuse to cook lunch.......a nice sandwich with a piece of fruit on the side is my usual lunch. The problem is,that leads into what's for dinner.
I have most every appliance, seldom use any of them.Prefer the stove/oven.Maybe it's just boredom, seldom trying new recipes.

In our house we have our big meal at noon. And just what we can find at our evening meal. Because, we
still have a business, and work in our home, and one son and one grandson work with us, so if we eat at
lunch I have more afternoon time to sew or think about it.ha,ha. The son and grandson go to their home 5PM.

Anyone of you remember The Jetsons? As a kid, I loved the idea of pushing a button and delicious food comes out - whatever you want.

I was just telling someone the other day that I'm waiting for my own personal Rosie!

I love to cook, but my food limitations make it boring. My cure - cook two days a week for a young friend who loves to eat. The only problem there is choosing things that transport well and sometimes have to hold several hours. He isn't fussy so it's a good situation.

Lunch - grilled cheese is a favorite. Wheat and yeast free bread tastes just fine browned in real butter.

It's because we live in an instant world now. When I was little, each meal was prepared unless it was a bowl of cereal with milk over it, toast that only took a few minutes, maybe a fried or poached egg or bologna sandwich. Not many cold cuts at the time. You really couldn't by a prepared meal, frozen for your convenience or boxed. Even mac and cheese was 'made', usually baked in the oven with the rest of the meal. Young people know nothing about this and those who do, probably have forgotten the time it took to 'cook.' Yes, much easier now, but miss some of those meals.

I often find there is nothing to eat(or nothing I want). I have a huge garden, huge freezer and a refrigerator full of food. Plus the pantry is full. I was just sitting here thinking of what to make for dinner. It is 8:00AM here. I have a lot to do today and was going to plan early.
