I love, love polka dots and batiks, bright, bold colors and also more modern prints in greys and blacks. My fav colors are shades of blues, purples and blue-greens. I've also developed a liking for the lime greens that have come out in the past few years. Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company has a skateboards pattern using black and lime green on a white background that is just so cute for boys in those colors!

I'm a paisley gal too. Also like calico. I'm not too crazy for batiks.

i'm 58 and I feel the same. I had so many at one point, that I made a "Crazy College" pattern. it was just big cuts 8 x 10 , 5 x 7 ect cuts to see the fabric. I'd pit about 50 fabrics into a twin + sized quilt. I would cut and piece them at night, and then in work the next day, i'd quilt them. I did a series of 55 of them nd donated them to the local hospital, kids section. I was a casket embroider, so I had time in the day to sit and quilt. it was very relaxing to do at a tension filled job. I did all 55 in a 3 month period. I still have some fabs left over to make a few more. LOVE those kids bright print.s

I don't piece, just applique. My I Spy quilt is tumbling block pieces with focus circles of prints appliqued to the blocks. Someday someone will be able to piece them into a nice quilt. Just not me.

Kristi, I love your quilt and ADORE your stuffed chicken! It really made me smile. We once had a broody hen try to pull off a late hatch and it was so cold she lost all but one little chick. The kids brought "Owly" inside to cage raise until she was feathered out enough to join the flock. Long story short.....ish, this little hen now thinks she belongs in the house.

She never misses an opportunity to surreptitiously dart into the house and quietly wait until no one is looking to go over and eat the dog kibble out of the feeder. When she is done she will go lay with the dogs on their blankets and take a nap.

Seriously, some days I feel like Ma Kettle!
