I machine sew the binding on the front, iron all edges out (for a crisp edge) then use these hair clips to hold it in place on the back so I can hand stitch.
I stared using them before I knew Wonder-Clips existed.

I love those wonder clips. It never occurred to me to use glue- good tip!
I machine sew the binding to the front and hand sew the back. I can never get the stitch line on the front to look right or catch the back. I even used a decorative stitch one time but it still didn't come out well.

Glue for me - I fold over and press the sewn on binding, add a thin line of glue to keep it perfectly in place then sew with no pins or clips in my way.

I use the 'hair' clips and love them. i did buy some red wonder clips but moved and now can't find most of them. either works well but I do love the silver ones best!

I glue and iron to set the glue, then hand sew to the back.

Susan Schamber has a great video on this technique.

I use wonder clips and love them. BTW- the generic ones sold for an amazing price on Amazon are identical to Clover Wonder Clips. Mine are all mixed together and I cannot tell the difference except the colors are slightly different! I use them at the intersections when piecing quilts, as well. They are a wonderful invention!

Watson, I also use Sharon Schamber's method and have for years. When I hand sew to the back I use hair clips

Pins on the back and hand stitch the binding. There is seldom a rush to my quilt making experience -- I enjoy every step of the process as I revisit times spent with my grandmother on the farm.
