yahoo!! our power came back on this afternoon. Now I'm really antsy to leave and it's getting cold here. Suppose to snow at 6000' tonight and tomorrow night and we're at 5400' brrrrr. Been packing fabric and projects to take today, the important stuff Have the potatoes and onions from the garden ready to go, dehydrating is done for green peppers and the tomatoes are in the process. We may go ahead and leave next week instead of the end of the month.

It's a little chilly here, started raining yesterday afternoon, windy and rain last night, and today more of the same. Suppose to be like this until Sunday....at least we don't have to water the yard Mountains around us are white on top.

Jaba, I know Ive never lived in that kind of climate with snow, cold etc but I DO love me some wintertime! Wyoming has always been a favorite state of mine..the mountains are so beautiful...and the colors in the fall...I am NOT a summer/heat type person at all and when my brother talks about the heat in Florida I'm sure glad I don't live down there...Id trade you Missouri for Wyoming anytime!! Have fun at your winter home and enjoy the granddaughter! Glad you didn't have major damage with the hurricane. Joan

Jaba, my sister lives in Washington above 5,000 ft. It takes me days before I can function fully. I don't transition to the altitude well! My nephew took me above 9,000 ft in Montana once, just breath was all I could think!

Have a safe trip.

Good news. I've heard now from both hav4boys and NanaKathy and both should have their blocks in on time. Way to go, Boomers. Way. To. Go.

This round, we have a couple of extenuating circumstances. NanaKathy55 is in the path of Irma and Hav4boys may have an unavoidable delay in shipping. All blocks are due in my hands one week from today so please mail in time for them to arrive by then, if possible. NanaKathy55 and Hav4boys, I'm sending emails/pms to each of you today. Please reply at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

I'll let everyone know what's happening as I learn of it. Thanks for your understanding.

That's awesome, Janice... good work, Boomers! I don't much mind since I'm waiting till Autumn group is done before I get all mine back together, but I'm happy for everyone in Summer who are waiting to get blocks back. Hope we see some quilts soon!

Great news. I will be on trip to Nashville next week so no worries about sitting at home waiting.

You know mine will just sit in a box and age naturally.

Just want to let you all know I've begun sorting out the blocks that have arrived. As usual, I pull a few at random from every package to check construction. I never comment on block choice or artistic issues as that's subjective and I'm the least artistic person you know. Construction is my focus: quarter inch seams, short stitch length (12 per inch minimum) to hold fabric together, no use of selvages, and 12 1/2 inch square blocks or as reasonably close as you can get. These are what I'm looking for. The process is quick if everyone followed the rules, and not so quick if they didn't. Here's to a very quick sort!
