That is just amazing work. Fabulous use of colour.

Not great at choosing quilting designs, but what occurred to me was to pick stars that stand out in certain areas, outline them and then echo them a bit widely (not 1/4")until they meet the other quilting lines from the other stars. Clear as mud?

It's a beautiful quilt. I like Rob's idea. I also think stitch in the ditch but not all ditches would work. Since you are in a time crunch I think you need to take in consideration what you are comfortable doing on the quilting. Maybe you could put together another single star or glue baste pieces to the batting, sandwich and practice some quilting on it to see how it looks.

You would end up with concentric echos around that one star and as you got further out, your echoed line would run off the edge of the quilt, so you wouldn’t have to worry about the binding interfering with a pattern. Also it would have the effect of being an all over texture that would reinforce the shape of the main star and also the spiraling out effect of the pieced pattern without overwhelming the rest of your lovely piecing.

Rob
I was going to suggest this also. I think it would emphasize your piecing.

I LOVE your quilt, and you fabric selection is perfect. Can you share some pattern info?

I like what Rob said. I would SID around the whole off center star. You did such a good job piecing. Say each strip is 1". I would make concentric stars (echoing) every 2 or 4" by Using the piecing lines (SID) where you can and FMQ in between. I would use painters tape to make it easier to see what line to stitch. That way, like Rob said, you can go back later and fill in if you want.

This is what I was trying to describe. First time using you doodle app, which someone here told us about. I have to find my stylus but you can get the idea.

I think I would just quilt in the ditch around the "outside edge" of the first complete star, and then quilt in the "outside edge" of each partial star.

I think it might be worth taking the time to print some extra pictures and do some doodling on them to see what might look good - I think "anything" will look good - but to see which might be the easier paths to take while quilting it.

Default gorgeous quilt

[QUOTE=Jennifer23;7919626]I've been trying to figure out a quilting pattern for this since May! Now the quilt show is barely three weeks away, and I really need to get it done, but I'm still completely undecided.

I think I want the quilting to emphasize the piecing (my piecing skills are much better than my quilting, so I want the quilting to take the back seat). My original plan was to ditch around every stripe, but I now think I would go crazy doing it. For reference, the stripes are 1" wide, so the stars are about 11.5" across point-to-point.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

Is this an original design? It is absolutely stunning
