Default Flying Geese Ruler for Quilting?

Does anyone know of a company that makes a flying geese ruler for domestic ruler quilting? Quilters Apothecary makes one http://quiltersapothecary.com/quilti...ing-Geese.html but it's only for long arms.

Just to be clear, this is for actual quilting, not for making flying geese blocks.

Thanks!

Watson

You can use these rulers on your domestic sewing machine. What machine do you have? Is it a high shank or low shank. Even a low shank machine will accommodate these rulers with the exception that you cannot have a ruler position that it placed against the back of the foot due to lack of space to accommodate it. Also, you need a special ruler foot to fit your machine type.

I believe Gina Perkes has one but I don't know what size it is. She has a YouTube video using it.

The one from quiltersapothecary would probably work if you kept the handle out of the way of the machine. Gina Perkes ruler is a triangle with other shapes but it would work as a flying geese. You might try Goggling triangle rulers rather then just flying geese ruler.

If you go to Gina Perkes site The Copper Needle and click on the store tab, she has a flying geese ruler called Amelia that might work for you.

I Googled and Googled 'til my Googler was sore and Gina Perkes never came up....

Thanks, everyone.

Watson

PS...Just went to her site and shipping is only $3.00 to Canada! Another company that sells this ruler wanted $25.00 to ship it to me!

Hey Watson, You can use the rulers from Quilter's Apothecary on your machine. Because they are 1/4" thick, you may not be able to use them behind the foot (unless you've got a high shank machine), but you can still use them on the front and sides of the foot.

Found a set of nesting flying geese rulers at a Canadian store that are 1/8" thick so will work great with my DSM.

On another note, Quilter's Apothecary has some really cool videos!

I have the triangulations program to create paper for sewing 1/2 square triangles etc. and included in the program are flying geese where they can be connected or not. I find this much easier to get perfect flying geese than the rulers. I have 2 of those and the papers are much better in my opinion.
