What a package I received from Christine, (TheMerkelFamily). Wish I could post a pic. It had fabric, the next book in my series, apple pie candle, a skid pad for my machine, orphan blocks which I collect, My wish list item of a 18 degree Sack-n-Whack ruler, I know there is something I am probably missing, but this was an awesome package! Thanks again Christine!!!!

Verna, My favorite time of year is Spring, everything is blooming and I know Summer is to follow. I like the smells of Fall, but hate what follows, WINTER. UGH!

Glad you liked it Cathy! Sure had fun "hunting for the items" and hope there's lots of smiles to be made out of those kid-friendly fabrics You've inspired me to find a good cause to help locally too! Thank you

Verna, I love to see all of the seasons but Spring & Fall are by far my favorites! Lots of beautiful colors coming out in Virginia right now too!

Christine

Many thanks to catjo for a great package. I just finished the m&m candy cone, and there was some cocoa and a box of tea. There was lovely cream fabrics, a book by Mary Higgins Clark that I have not read. Some crazy knee socks, my "Hera" marker I had asked for, a Dracula pin to celebrate Halloween, a little zip bag. A useful package that was fun to open. ALSO-a quilt block I would love to work on, I really need another one . Love it all. Shirley

I don't really have a favorite time of the year anymore. It used to be Christmastime, hands down. But since my mother and I got in a huge fight on her last Christmas (I stupidly commented to someone else on a present I got and she evesdropped - I couldn't wear it as it it wasn't exactly appropriate), and last Christmas was the first without her and miserable for us all, I can't say that anymore. Trying to find something to love about every season, because to everything there is a season...

I received my secret pal today.
It was totally awesome cuppy!
I love everything. She sent some Fqs, some blue variegated thread, a pattern for a purse, two patterns for blocks, and some awesome post card supplies.

quiltingdragon, I too had a very personal and tragic loss in my life. For a very very long time I would not celebrate Christmas, it took me years to get over my loss. Even now its been 19 years sometimes I still have a hard time. Only the last few years have I even put a tree up. We go back home (Indiana) for Christmas but we don't celebrate it on that day. I have stepchildren and step-grandchildren now and they have alot of other parents so we celebrate about a week early. I am only telling you this so you will know that you will be in better frame of mind eventually. May God Bless you and your family

ok another question:
When you decorate for Christmas what all do you do?
As for me I just started decorating again and I usually just put up a tree but a couple years ago I did more. I no longer live in this house that I am showing you, we sold it almost 2 years ago and last year I just had my tree up. I mostly decorate in Victorian, love love Victorian. Here is my last Christmas in this house.

Thanks so much for the words of wisdom, Verna. They help a lot. We are doing small and low key as a family this year, nothing extravagant, big parties, etc. It helps to know that maybe with time and work, I can enjoy the holidays again.

I just am not a big fan of Christmas and do not decorate. Now that I have a grandson, I will put a tree up and stockings. Once my kids left home, I just did not want to deal with the mess. I prefer to do community volunteer at Christmas.
