Default Another Agatha Christie re-make

Did anyone notice the new Murder on the Orient Express film that is coming out? Was that Johnny Depp and who is playing M. Poirot?

I just looked at that long list of characters.
I have ADD, and have a hard time keeping track of characters if they look the same.
like 2 blond men, or 3 old ladies.
how will I ever keep track of these people???
what is the story about, other than someone getting murdered on a train?

Lynnie, you have to read the book. It is quite the mystery. A true classic twist.

Depp is Ratchett. When Richard Widmark played that part he was the victim.

Lynnie, if you can find the older one, it shows that he kidnapped and murdered a little girl. Twelve people were affected by this, and all twelve stabbed him. It was very well done, and I hope this one will live up to that, as Jim and I are planning to see it.

It's an awesome story. So far, I've read it numerous times and seen 2 movies made from it.

I haven't seen the new Murder on the Orient Express yet, but I absolutely loved the old Maigret (Michael Gambon), which now stars Rowan Atkinson, and it's all wrong. So wrong. I simply cannot take Mr. Atkinson seriously in the series.

Is this a movie coming out or is it a PBS movie?

I must disagree - I think Rowan Atkinson is brilliant in the role; initially, I was of the same opinion as you, but a little while into the first episode with Rowan Atkinson, I thought it was inspired casting. Michael Gambon also played the role well, and I loved him as Maigret, but Rowan Atkinson does the character justice.
Murder on the Orient Express is excellent as a TV serial and the book is wonderful, I am not sure that a film can bring the same nuance that David Suchet bought to the character. He is the perfect Hercule Poirot - to me anyway.
