Default Do you know how this cabinet/ lift works?

This was the other half of the score the other day at the goodwill. I thought it was for a sewing machine and a serger, but it ends up that the hole on the right is meant to hold a tray to hold notions as you sew.

Three drawers go under that, you can see them on the right. The top flaps are in the finishing spa, getting re-done because they were Not Good On Top. My question is: how does the lift work? I've tried googling and couldn't find one (a custom made Amish one had the notions tray, but a fancy modern lift,) so I am hoping that with all our different ages and locations, one of us here has seen it. I'll go first- it's not me! Thanks for the help!
Here is is in the up position, ready to sew:

And here it is in the down position, ready to close the lid.

It looks interesting. Can hardly wait for someone that knows all the details to tell us.

This cabinet is meant for machines that are held to the base by a large screw or bolt on the bottom of the machine that holds sort of hook into the base instead of hinges on the back of the machine.

Why so many squiggly holes if it only needs one bolt? Or two even?

I like the tray idea just to the right of the machine. Cool cabinet.

I have no idea how the cabinet works, but it's one I would have loved to bring home. The wood will refinish up beautifully!

It looks similar to the tables for a Singer 301A. There is a cradle that screws to the wood flap and the machine snaps onto it and drops into the table.

I am guessing it has all the squiggles so that many different heads could be attached.

Nope, not even close. The 301 cradle attaches to hinge pins at the back of the cabinet space just the same as machines do.
