i have to thank you
...for sharing your quilt ..it's wonderful
...i was unfamiliar with the term metis quilter, tho as a part cherokee, i have always had strong interest in native american studies. i love the canadian manor of saying "first nation" ...so much more correctly describes my forefathers and others. and now i love the canadian way of saying metis ..instead of half breed, or 'breed' as my grfather was referred to. so thank you for a lovely few hours researching 'metis'.
...and i have always admired and loved looking at the star quilts of the dakota sioux & am familiar with their use of the term 'blanket' for their fabulous creations.
