I made 16 Stockings. 15 in two weeks..... I had a nice system so it seemed fairly easy. I first cut my 2.5" candy. (Four or five were 2" because I had that size candy. After the stockings were together and yoyos made, you can see the names machine embroidered in groups of six. I sandwiched them with the backing, 2 layers of flannel, stabilizer, top (which was a white fairy frost I used for the heel, toe, and cuff. I luckily found my pinking shears and then pinked around them. After poking a hole in the star I tied a 12" ribbon on them and looped it over the yoyo (red for girls and green for boys.) which was attached with a big button. Hubby was going to make me a false fireplace mantle to hang them all, but that was at the bottom of the todo list. He has the stuff for next year though.

Here's my basket of candies! I've decided to just mix them up and reach in and grab random candies to sew into blocks. Now I have to decide what pattern I want to use! My new year's resolution is to work on projects that I have stashed. Many are already bundled up into specific sewing projects with their respective patterns. It's time to do some clearing out!! Now the dilemma will be who gets the finished quilts? You can't sell them for what you put into them, so I guess my family will be getting some very nice gifts this next year!

Yes, MizMelly, that's what I always say when people ask if they can buy a quilt from me. Sorry, these are only for family. But, I'm always willing to teach a person to quilt, and I've done that a few times!
