I now have 6 of 20 made, and made one edge block. All the blocks that are on the edge (so most of them) will be constructed like this w/ the outer edge plain to finish off the pattern.

Well if there are turtles, I must be a sloth. Was so looking forward to more or less keeping up, but had stomach bug second week of December, then getting all of the baking and cooking done for Christmas, left for DD's day after & came home day before New Year's sick with nasty cold. I'm poking away....

I know a lot of people do smaller sizes, is anyone considering larger? I'd prefer a queen size that will hang down over sides... Am actually considering doing MORE of pesky step 3 in lavender blue (or periwinkle, which is my aqua) to make an all around border. It would add 10" and bring that color out more.

Looks nice, Kass! The outer part makes your lighter pieces look like they are floating over a black background. Cool...

Maybe you should wait and see how well you like making 50 blocks first. If you still are into the plan for a bigger quilt, more power to you! We'll cheer you on.

I made 30 blocks and I'm so ready to move on to something else.

AmyBible, your colors are just wonderful! The hourglass unit looks somewhat out of place to me, so my vote is for the geese.

Pretty layout, Amybible. I'm no help because I like it either way.

I like the one with the flying geese, Amybible. I was actually toying with the idea of making 9 extra blocks and cutting them in half diagonally, but I think my seam allowance would suffer and my points would end up clipped.

I haven't gotten any MQ sewing today. I'm putting new blinds in all the bedrooms, so I decided to make some fresh girly valances for my daughter's bedroom. I intend to use the vintage ruffle foot on my Singer 15-91 for the first time. Should be fun!

I guess that I will be in the sloth category too. I have not done any of clues 4-9 due to company and illness. It will be good to have some of us slower ones still working on it together and it may benefit us to see all the variations done by others. I am anxious to get back to the sewing room, but probably won't get there until next week. I also planned on making a queen size, but will have to wait and see how it all goes.

Carol, you are not alone. I'm still finishing clue 5 and since I ran out of the melon/coral fabric I can't finish clue 6 until I visit my LQS. Hopefully, I'll take a walk to my LQS tomorrow and be able to find more coral fabric.
