How about a matching or coordinated fitted pillow case/cover to store it in.

I think I would stick to a white tissue paper if this is the tip you use. Some of that tissue has pigment that could rub off onto the quilt. Ask me how I know this. :~(

for babies and lap sized stuff I usually fold into thirds lengthwise, roll up and tie with yarn or ribbon. for larger quilts I like to fold and tie with yarn or ribbon.

At TJ Max, Home Goods and Hobby Lobby, I have found pretty fabric containers...box shape or tall, round shapes with rope handles that I have used for gifting a quilt.

This is what I have done as well. Kind of like a double gift!

Question about the cedar boxes on Amazon...is it safe to store quilts with cedar? I've heard that the oils in the wood can seep out and into the quilt ruining them. Yes, I know that hope chests (wedding chests) are typically lined with cedar and used to store linens, etc., but I worry about putting quilts in them. Am I wrong? Hopefully, I am, as I have a couple of cedar chests but haven't used them for storing quilts, just woolen sweaters and blankets.

I realize that my presentation is lacking but ---I have knitted many HUGE afghans (we are a tall family), and have always placed the afghans in a black garbage bag....usually given at Christmas time. Once the knitting needles were still attached and they had to give it back to let me finish it.

The anticipation of who gets the garbage bag (with a twist tie and a bow) kills the family members until someone gets to open it. (Usually the VERY LAST gift to be given.
I do love the idea of a gorgeous presentation, however.
I may have to start making things look better but after 2 years of hand quilting ...they had better like what they are getting.LOL!
