Default Ohio road trip

Husband and I are planning a road trip through Ohio. We will have a stop at Lehmans in Dalton. Other than that no plans. We enjoy flee markets, country stores, Narional parks. Any suggestions for must do's?

Amish country is wonderful. You can go to the quilt shops, lots of great food shops- sweets, cheeses, etc. We make a day of it and always have a good time. It's about 80 miles north of Columbus.

Sorry, make that 80 miles east!!! I'm so bad with directions

My husband and I went to Holmes County to see the Amish and taste the foods a few years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. I would love to go again sometime, but I have so many joint issues now that walking is not easy.

We both want to visit Amish country and hope to do that. Hope Knees and back issues won't get in our way.

I hope you get there. You can take your time and take it easy while you're there if you have health issues. It's so laid back and relaxed. Let me know if you get there. You won't regret it. Every time we go there I feel like I went back in time for the day. It's so relaxing.

If you like batiks there is a shop in Lancaster, Ohio that has amazing batiks. It is East of Columbus. It is called Lunn fabrics. They also sell online. They design batiks for some of the major manufacturers and also have some of their own designs. They have a place in Bali that makes the batiks for them. I call it Batik Heaven. If you are looking for a certain color or design they probably have it. They have about 100 black and white batiks, red and white batiks.
If they were closer to me my credit card would probably melt. It is about a 2 hour drive for me. I love love batiks. They are coming to talk at my quilt guild in April. I can't wait. I hope I will be able to go as the meeting is 1 week after my total knee replacement. I have a ride arranged. The owners are so interesting and nice.
Have fun.

If you like parks and a break from fabric shopping (did I actually say that?!), the Old Man's Cave area in southeastern Ohio is beautiful.

Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of fame, Art museum, botanical gardens, aquarium, microbreweries, and don't miss Little Italy. Zoo, too. Akron Football Hall of fame. Cleveland has some superb restaurants. And a playhouse if you like stage plays.
