I've been avoiding this thread because I haven't had time to get to the QST's yet...but I'm an impatient soul and have "peeked"...Oh so nicely done and hope to get to this later this week.
What lovely samples folks...Watson, the black is so dramatic!
Thanks Judy...

To Every one of you - I am taking a poll.
I had come up with some other ideas when I finally sat down to draft this mystery. I even cut all the pieces for a scrappy monotone gray with a touch of yellow, but it is all HSTs and I figured a lot of gals wouldn't be too pleased with that. But ... if anyone likes HSTs, I got a dandy almost ready to go within a couple weeks of the end of #18. It doesn't have to be monotone, but I had a ton of gray, This pattern would work nicely with light, medium and dark scraps, with a solid accent color.
Let me know how you feel, all comments welcome. I chose this from a single block I saw but the pattern it makes it absolutely stunning!
Judy,.... I just noticed this post, was so busy with QST's that I overlooked it. Yes..I would love to sew along,,,I have a ton of gray and shades of gray to use . Thank you!

Oh wow, Watson, this is fabulous!!! The drama ... no words to describe it!

Prettip I didn't mean that you need to go with a monochromatic scheme, I just had lots of gray scraps so decided to do something with them. An all scrappy will also work with this.

Default Advice Welcome

I just finished my plaid flannels and really love the outcome. I want to make it larger and can't decide if I should use some 4 inch plaid blocks, or plain borders....I only have enough of the solid wine and cream as in the corner stones though. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you Judy for putting these mysteries together...I know for me it gives me the motivation to get cracking and sew. I did not take all the trips but I kept peeking to see how everyones quilt turned out. We do love and appreciate your creative spirit!

Everyone's tops look great! Thanks for this pattern, Judy. Not usually a scrappy type person, but I do like this one! And great idea to do the next "mystery" with lots of HSTs, I am sure I'll try it too.
