Using Flannel sheets as backing

Yes, Yes, Yes! It is less expensive that way, and, if the flannel sheets are of good quality, they will last a very long time. If you buy a flannel sheet set, you also get a pillowcase that matches the backing. The flannel sheets go on sale in late January to March, so that is the best time to buy!

I have done this for years for small laptop throws for kids. My daughter started this when she was making throws as gifts for her friends in high school to take to competitions (the stands get cool in the evening waiting for the awards!). They were warm and yet small enough to roll up into a backpack and easy to launder. And, added bonus- you can get a very large one very cheap!

Years ago we had "white sales", meaning sheets etc but I have not heard of any in ages. I wonder if it is a regional thing or am I just not observant??? What stores in your are have them????
