I've only used invisible thread once, in the ditch on a multicolor quilt top that I couldn't select a quilting thread color for. It worked great. I bought it based on advice from folks on this board: Superior Threads very fine, reduced sheen, "Mono.Poly" I used it with a polyester thread in the bobbin, also from Superior Threads 60 wt. "The Bottom Line". I ordered them on-line from Superior threads. I was nervous about using the invisible thread but it was wonderful.

Superior thread is superior to other invisible threads.

Brand matters with invisible thread. Some of the stuff sold in stores such as JoAnn's (don't know if they still carry it) can be horrible. Stick with Superior or YLI.

I've had good luck with Wonder Invisible thread, but I do make my stitches a bit smaller than with cotton thread. Not sure if that's necessary or not but I just feel more comfortable doing it that way because the WI is so much thinner than the cotton threads.

Just an after thought, I need extra lighting when I'm using invisible thread because it does tend to disappear when I'm trying to pick it up for a new seam line. So I put an extra goose neck lamp on my sewing table.

I use Aurifil invisible thread from Superior Threads. Absolutely love it, quilt with it in my long arm a lot. Comes in a large cone, I can quilt a lot of quilts with it. The quilts I’ve quilted with it have held up well through use and laundering ( including the dryer) for years.

I think Superior threads invisible is Monopoly. Aurifil is a different brand.
