I did a quilt using Deb Tucker's Rapid Fire Hunters Star ruler and another method for another quilt. If I do another Hunter Star, I will grab the ruler and use it again. It was by far the easier method.

I used the ruler to do my Hunters Star. Tried 1 block with another method then used the ruler & it was much easier. The more you do the faster it goes. You won't go wrong with the ruler.

Thank you! The border is actually just the regular Hunter's Star block, but the brown (Wilmington Scroll, I think it was) fabric used as appropriate

I am working on a Hunter's Star now using the Deb Tucker ruler. It is going together much better than I expected and is easier that I expected. Just follow the instructions that came with the ruler. I also bought the Hunter's Star Field Guide and I have not used it at all. There are videos on UTube that might help. I watched a couple of those before I decided that I was brave enough to start the process.

I got the Rapid Fire Hunter's Star ruler several years ago. I am inspired to make my plan. A question for those of you who have done this quilt, how much yardage is needed for a two color quilt in queen size? The yardage required is not plainly given in the instructions. TIA

Very pretty quilt, my husband and I made three Hunter's Star Quilts using the Rapid Fire template. The quilts were all made with flannel. I would like to make another one using cotton fabric.

I have not used that template but did make a Hunter's Star quilt using Roolen's method. She is a board member here & her directions are here on her blog:

It was easy to follow & turned out really good.
I may have to look into that template as the Hunter's Star is one of my favorite blocks.
