That is beautiful! How do you make the pine trees so realistic? Is it digital printing on fabric?
And is that a real wooden frame or a fabric one? The more I look the more I can't decide!

What a wonderful landscape piece...it looks like a fun process. I have signed up for a landscape class at our Maine State Quilt Show end of July. I forget who the instructor is...

Your fabrics are spot on. The frame looks exactly like wood. What a lovely gift for your son. I can't wait to see what you make next. Thank you for sharing.

That is gorgeous! It's very photo-like. I'd like to see a closeup of the small evergreens near the center of the piece.

Quilt of the week? Seriously? I am speechless! Other than to say "thank you" for the highest of complements.

The cluster of small pine trees is printed fabric. I created to large pine trees myself by free hand drawing the shapes onto Steam-A-Seam II and then fusing them onto the quilt. Next I thread painted the branches ... FMQ. I have an HQSS Sit Down machine that I absolutely love! The frame is wood grain fabric. I used Karen Eckmeier's method for making a layered, top-stitched frame with mitered corners.
Thanks for the kudos, N
