    I think one of the more entertaining things about a block like that is - when you rotate the components in different ways, how different the looks can be.

    I like the second one, but those plain areas in the first one would be good for a quilted motif

    i love this quilt ..both ideas. i've made d9p's but wasn't impressed with the d4p until i saw your scrappy version on point. i keep coming back ..admiring ...and thinking ...thinking i'm gonna make a scrappy d4p, on point, soon

    I like the first, because I like seeing the design in it. The second is nice too, but you lose the design. a quilted pattern in the white part would look good.
