Mortimer is just gorgeous. I drive my husband nuts...if you say "puppy hugs" both our Malamute x and Chi x dive on to a lap (usually his) and smother you with big dog kisses. Lovely to see everyone's responses and I hope your JR returns soon Olivia's Grammy.

Me too. Our other JR has never been alone before and he is barking his head off. Maybe calling BoBo.

Gosh, I hope he is home safe very soon.

Mortimer is just beautiful and he would be in our laps if he lived with us. As it is our Arlo (75 pounds) is a rather long and heavy lap dog who must have his lap time every day. If I am sitting in a chair, rather than on the couch where he fits better, it doesn't slow him down. In fact, he jumps into my lap and flips over like a baby for tummy rubs. He is obviously sure that I will catch him, but it isn't always easy!

Wonderful photos - our lap dog is a border collie called Oz (as in the Wizard of Oz) - we rescued him five years ago. He likes nothing better than to curl up on our laps.

I am so glad to hear about all the "lap" dogs we all have, makes me feel better about how spoilt ours is
And I love the fact that all our pets are considered part of our families. :-D Today is Mortimer's bath day. He loves a bath, and would take one every day if we would let him. :-D

Oh Ninnie can you take a piccy? I'd LOVE to see Mortimer in his bath! Does he have bubbles? And a rubber ducky?

poldiceann - Oz is beautiful, oh those eyes! We had a rescue collie/spaniel cross who just had the same expression. I think its adoration for the people who rescue them!

thank you Katrine, yes he is gorgeous and very spoilt - he had two homes before he came to us and he also has a bad back leg, he was either beaten or knocked over by a vehicle - we love him to pieces. He is our 6th rescue dog.

I'm sure when you got him you knew he would be a big dog, but did you ever think he would be this big?

yes , we knew. He is our 3rd. Great Dane, and the smallest that we have had. Although he is still putting on weight. Our first Dane was 42 in at the shoulders and weight 210. Mortimer weights 160 , so not near as big :-D
