    Default quilt as you go

I am looking for a book where you quilt the blocks as you go, then add binding and quilt the binding and the quilt is done. The books I have found just sew together the blocks with no binding. Help!

Why would you quilt the binding? Am I missing something?

Maybe you mean sashing instead of binding? I would recommend "Machine Quilting in Sections" by Marti Michell. She covers the sashing technique along with several others.

I think what you are looking for is sometimes called quilt as you go with joining strips—you attach narrow strips front and back and make kind of a box pattern. But you still need binding on the other edges of the quilt. Anyway, try looking inside this book and see if it’s what you want.

Georgia Bonesteel introduced Quilt as You Go. Her books are wonderful. They can be found on Ebay and in many libraries. She is a quilting legend not many newer quilters know of.

Suggestion ... save your $$ for fabric!

Use the links provided and google some more.
