Kass, OMG, your quilt is amazing. It will be beautiful!! Definitely keep for yourself!

Two more blocks complete. Elsia’s Star (which I changed the corners to hst) for GramE. I tend to make changes in the pattern blocks I see and I know it must have a new name. Some blocks are very similar. For Stafar, I made the Paper Pinwheels block. The squares that look black are actually dark blue batik. Both patterns from Around the Block book 1 & 2. I did order book 3.

Both are beautiful blocks, Denise. Both of those quilts are going to be so pretty. I hope we get to see the finished products!

Thank you SBG.

I’m posting another picture of Stafar’s block. I didn’t realize how small it was. I try and make them the same. It looks a little funny under the big block. So here is another pic.

Starfar’s fabric is so cute, I wanted to be sure we all could see it.

Stafer and D.Henson, very nice blocks. And Kass, your blocks and quilt look fantastic. So, how much longer do you think it will take you to finish it? I can't imagine doing something that involved.

Here are blocks for Libster and Darcyshannon:

B’stone, beautiful blocks! Love the Disney trick-or-treaters. The star for Libster is gorgeous... I wanted to ask you how you deal with all the waste in the Stars by Magic method? Do you make them her way, or have you figured out a more economical way? I made some from that book for the Winter Block swap, and was surprised at the waste. Her method has you discard almost as much as you keep.

I agree, there is a lot of waste so I don't make them very often. Sometimes I think it would be easier to do them as paper pieced blocks, but I also always waste a lot of fabric when I use that method!

Bibilostone, both of your blocks are fabulous. I love the crispness of the star. Great color choices. DShannon’s Halloween block is adorable.

I have not seen the way "she" does it or the pattern, but I would make that star w/ 2 strip sets cut at 45' angles, after they are made into straight sets. The only waste should be the angle at teh beginning and end of the strip sets.
