I like #2. The colors pop more.

To me #2 looks richer. Both are fine but I prefer 2.

I prefer 2. I like the diagonal continuity as well as the meeting of the colored blocks...jmho

I made the small 4 patches with 1.5 inch strips, then the big patches 2.5 inches, but you could do them any size you wish. It fun to see how every block looks when complete.
