Very cool and beautiful machine! However, that cord looks scary. For safety sake, I'd change out the electrical cords, if you plan to use it.

Please have your new friend retired before you use it. Better safe than sorry. I am a bit freaky about old cords from a bad experience with one many years ago. It cost me a dear fur kid, but I have never forgotten that lesson. I have taught myself to retire any lamp or other electrical appliance that I get “second hand” and to keep cords hidden. My dear fur kid bit a cord that had an unknown short in it (which is why it was probably given away), the vet said she was gone in an instant so did not suffer, but I am still taking no chances.

The machine I learned on was destroyed in a house fire in 1962. You have a treasure. Give that treasure a new cord though before using it.
