Love your color choices Mary, that improves the block. Toverly, your sunbonnet Sue is precious and I love the flowers coming up through your fence.

I was going to go with a chicken theme. Use white background with black chicken wire on it for the outside edge and use some little eggs on different colors of background and such. So it would all tie together. then I thought we might make a chicken and I didn't want to have two that similar. I want to put some of my fencing around my blocks, but what if we make several sizes of blocks. ... Also mine aren't uniform on the grass and sky like Toverly's. I might look dumb.

You won't look dumb, lawsonmugs. I was worried about switching blocks on the Farmer's Daughter. It works out. Your quilt will be unique to you and that's a good thing. Love the chicken wire idea. My bee is the Red Hens so I have used a similar fabric on other quilts. I'm hoping for a chicken also, of course, mine will be red. I have even thought about having a downed board on one of the fences for fun. I just wanted to maintain the horizon line since I kept it in the two other blocks in the row. If I had used the 3 floating sunflowers, I wouldn't have switched the last pattern. But I grounded it with the horizon. Go for your idea, you will be glad you did.

I too am doing a chicken theme, lawsonmugs. I have my little SBS all fused in place, now I just need to go find all the matching colors in threads to applique her down. I can't wait to see yours!
