I love how you made the tops other than using potholders. Never saw it done this way and it is a great Idea!

The blog where I found the instructions is gone now. The instructions have you trace your iron for the shape. I found that too small so I enlarged my pattern by an inch or more all around it. You can actually make the pattern for the top any size or shape you want. You cut two pieces of fabric for the top, put them right sides together and sew the curved sides leaving the straight bottom open for the towel. Clip the curves on the seam so they lay flat and nice, turn them right side out. Place a piece of stabilizer or interfacing in the tip for making the button hole, fold up the straight edge of the top about 1/2 or 3/4 of an inch and put your towel in. Note, a regular dishtowel will be big enough to make two hanging dishtowels, just cut it in half. Sew the bottom edge securing the towel, make a buttonhole in the tip, clip open your buttonhole, sew on a button and you're done. I can make a couple of these in about an hour and a half from cutting to last stitch on the button. They are easy to make and my family and friends love them.
