I've never had a machine where the presser bar or needle bar come off with the face plate? From the inside it looks like there grounds for hope.

I've run into it before. They are a pain to get back together. This is from a Davis. Maybe my VF? I smiled when I saw how they looked. Though there has been some time spent on them before the picture.

Got the needlebar on the June to slide. Aslo here is a pic of the back of a faceplate on a Homestead (er?) that has the bars inside the assembly.[ATTACH=CONFIG]602461[/ATTACH]

Great progress. with mulitple applications of PBblaster, SMO. elbow grease, taps from a nylon and then a steel hammer, lots of headscratching. the handwheel with turn complete revolutions.and move almost eveything that should move. Shuttle is liberted, though the slide still won't move. Presser bar is still stuck, stitch lenght slide won't move. Havn't found any more letters or numbers anywhere yet. Left my camera at my GF's house. Drat

Good news. First the mechanical clean up and make everything turn, pretty is the last thing, but not the easy part in your case. If you aim for a nice finish I can see a quite a bit of primers, fillers and sanding; but within doable. I'm not sure there are decals for this one? Either way, slow but steady progress is often the best.

Treadle&Gears

Household SMC (Providence Tool) used the same type needlebar arrangement as well. Very strong stitchers! I don't think I have any pics with the faceplate off but I'll check.
