Default Tilda doll for a young teenager

I wanted to make a doll for a early teen girl and this is the pattern I found I liked. I felt it represented the teens of today more than anything else I could find. This is for a gal who loves purple, I of course made it that color that would match some other things in her room.

I had never heard of a tilda doll or the books devoted to this type of doll. But evidently it has been around a while for there are tons of books about her. Making it was somewhat of a challenge, but I got it finished in time for Christmas ... Yay!!

I already have a few other things for my niece, but I sure hope she likes this little cutie.

This little gal who's name is tone, has written and published quilt and doll books in eighteen languages and countries. Very cute fabrics and fun to look at her site.

Oh she is very cute. love the dress. I kept saving photos of dolls with skinny arms and legs but never made one.

I think the ones I saw were in Australian patchwork and quilting magazine or Quiltmania (UK) or France. hopefully I still have one pattern somewhere.
