Default Question about Crayola washable markers

I've tested the pink marker on scraps of my fabrics, and it comes out in a glass of cold water. When I wash the finished quilt, do I need to rinse it in cold water first like you do with the blue Mark B Gone pens, or is it OK to use detergent?

I use them all the time. I wash them and everything I wash in Coldwater Tide,of course cold water, the markers always come out.

No need to rinse first......straight into a cold wash with whichever detergent you like to use.

I use them on every quilt I quilt. I wash in warm water and never had any of the marker not wash away. I know from my grands use of them they wash out of everything. Stuff animals, doll faces, real faces, fridge door, dog......

This made me laugh out loud...loud enough that my coworkers gave me a funny look. I don't have kids but I cannot imagine washing marker off my dog. And I have seen kids in the past running around with marker drawings on their faces...with embarrassed parents in tow.

Thanks so much, everyone. As usual, I'm down to the wire with last minute Christmas sewing. It's great to get answers here.

I had a brown that didn’t wash out. I think it may have been because I ironed it — not sure.

I accidently ironed over yellow and gray markers, and was worried. Both washed out just by soaking in the tub.

I've used almost all the colors and all have washed out. I wash in warm water, All-free pods and I add a scoop of Oxy-Clean. Never had a problem. Love all the options that these markers provide.

I too use these markers all the time. And they are the only markers I let my toddlers have too. They wash out of everything!
