They are silicone mitts; you make the decorative insert and lining and the cuff; you have to purchase the glove w/pattern; you can also purchase 'extra' gloves which has no directions. I just made 2 also as gifts. There is a youtube link of a guy showing how to do them; I can't find it off hand. Success: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzcRA9KYQ30&t=591s

Never heard of this before but it would be great to have the silicone on the outside of the glove. Is the silicone removable to wash them? Good job!

Is this an on-line order only or can you get these in a quilt store. I've never seen these before. I thought $14.99 for one hand was a lot of $$$. I wonder why they don't come 2 in a pkg.....I think most people use both hands to get something out of the oven......

I saw these here for the first time yesterday and was intrigued, so a quick search yielded that you can buy online, I started at Missouri star and the pattern with one mitt is 13.95 the "refills" or extra mitt is currently out of stock and costs 8.65, add 5.00 shipping plus tax and the two mitts are close to $30. Other places all are about the same price. Shipping varies widely too. If I was making for a gift for someone special that would not be "over the top" but just for me......I need to think about it a bit. Will wait until after the first of the year and see. Have not priced ready made silicone mitts in the marketplace so don't know if that price is really too much or not.
I do not have a LQS within 50 miles so will check with them after the new year too.
Love the ones qltnmom posted....her daughter will be delighted.
