    Thank you for info about what works for you. I also do better with lifestyle changes.Trying to go with what I can live with all my life.It’s very slow for me,but my blood work is always good.Not easy finding your own path,but good luck to all.

    Please do not mistake Ketosis for Ketoacidodis, they are 2 very different responses.
    thank you especially for the last sentence. I believe in a Low Carb lifestyle and even though my
    husband is diabetic (2), he eats this way at home (only) and has lost some weight and it has
    done him a lot of good as well as keeping his sugar levels in the normal range.
    I lost twenty five pounds so far and have less fibromyalgia pain and a few other bonuses.
    I won't go back to a carby lifestyle that keeps me bloated and hungry all the time, but it is
    important to take or replace sodium, some potassium and magnesium.
    (don't overtake the potassium.)

    What I like about keto is that most of what you shouldn't eat is stuff that's not good for you anyway.
    There are so many natural choices of sweeteners now. (Google the steps of processing

    The before and after pictures of the loss of puffiness in just the face after a few days is
    remarkable.
    Keto is anti-inflammatory unlike all the chemicals and preservatives in a conventional
    American diet.
    This used to be considered a fad but ppl got busy and improved it and it is getting a
    lot of respect in the medical community now.

    I went to the Diet Doctor site and found the cause of a 'rash' I have had for over 6 weeks. Looked in the 'Health' title and chose, side effects which had rash as the last entry. I have been going crazy trying to figure out just what I had eaten to cause it.
    I can not eat regular wheat, only organic grains, and thought the Triscuit crackers I had eaten caused the rash. Now, I know it was starting to do the Keto that caused it. Have been doing low-carb for a number of years and never knew Keto can cause such a horrible itching.
    I am no longer doing Keto for fear it will come back. Do like the low-carb recipes to expand my menus but no more strict Keto.
    Thank you so very much for the link for me to solve my itching problem. Been using witch hazel followed with a cream and/or Bag Balm to soften the areas and stop the itching.

    I did give up carbs completely for a while. It worked to keep my weight down, but did some bad things to my digestive system. Now I'm working on healing my digestive system up and eating carbs in moderation but some every day. I agree with Jingle that a well balanced meal is best all around. I exercise more with in combination with a good balanced diet keeps my weight down and I feel much better.

    I could never do keto because I love carbs especially breads, potatoes and pasta. Portion control is for me. I have to watch that I don't' have toast and cheese for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and them pasta or dinner (or eggs on toast) since I've been cooking for only me. So I've actively plan my meals and snacks and count my fruit and vegetable servings during the day. Is it doing anything re weight? No idea since I don't have a scales just as doctor appts.

    However dd was visiting last month. She has gone totally wheat and dairy free (sacrilegious to this farmer's daughter) but I kept my mouth shut except for asking where she got her calcium. And the organic and gluten.... I kept the eye rolling to a minimum. When I was in high school I tried the Atkins diet on advise of my doctor. That with the fasting I tried screwed my metabolism and I've had weight issues all my adult life. Thanks to an aunt who told me I was getting fat when I put on weight (totally normal) during puberty. I truly believe that my weight issues would never have developed if I hadn't tried to lose weight in my teens. I'd been a string bean till then.
